Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. –Proverbs 22:28
I call upon You, Lord, God of Abraham and God of Isaac and God of Jacob and Israel, You who are the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the God who, through the abundance of your mercy, was well-pleased towards us so that we may know You, who made heaven and earth, who rules over all, You who are the one and the true God, above whom there is no other God; You who, by our Lord Jesus Christ gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit, give to every one who reads this writing to know You, that You alone are God, to be strengthened in You, and to avoid every heretical and godless and impious teaching.
St Irenaeus of Lyons, Against the Heresies 3:6:4

I was impressed when I watched it in 2009 and am still impressed. She is the face and the voice of our young pro-lifers! Thank God! God bless her and all the young people out there who have the courage of their convictions to stand for life, despite the ridicule and persecution from a perverted culture! We need adults to do the same!
ReplyDeleteAmen and amen, prayerwarrior. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteShe's arguing against abortion, but I instantly though of predestination. After all, if the notion that everything that happens if God's will, all this clamoring against abortion is nonsesne, since its God's will! But I've always had a problem accepting this notion that God pre-scripted the world. But how do you guys who believe in that sqaure the wrongness of aborthion with your belief that God in fact pre-scripted all those abortions to take place since everything (according to you) happens by his will? (By his will, you say, not simply by his allowance for free-will; for you deny free-will! Essentially then, by denying free-will, are you not actually in favor of abortion?)
Jose, yours is a sophomoric objection. First, those who believe the Scriptures, and consequently in predestination, usually and rightly understand the biblical distinction between God’s decretive will and his will of disposition. Secondly, your caricature of the doctrine has, among other things, the typical flaw of failing to recognize that God ordains the means as well as the ends.
