A brief presentation on motherhood by Fanny. She looks at motherhood from three perspectives: the marketplace, the culture, and Scripture.
Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. –Proverbs 22:28
I call upon You, Lord, God of Abraham and God of Isaac and God of Jacob and Israel, You who are the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the God who, through the abundance of your mercy, was well-pleased towards us so that we may know You, who made heaven and earth, who rules over all, You who are the one and the true God, above whom there is no other God; You who, by our Lord Jesus Christ gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit, give to every one who reads this writing to know You, that You alone are God, to be strengthened in You, and to avoid every heretical and godless and impious teaching.

St. Irenaeus on Lent—Its Diversity and Unity among the Faithful: A Good Word for the Modern Dilemma
For the controversy is not merely as regards the [paschal] day, but also as regards the form itself of the fast. For some consider themselves bound to fast one day, others two days, other still more, while others do so during forty...And this variety among the observers of the fasts had not its origin in our time [i.e., mid-second century A.D.], but long before in that of our predecessors, some of whom probably, being not very accurate in their observance of it, handed down to posterity the custom as it had, through simplicity or private fancy, been introduced among them. And yet nevertheless all these lived in peace one with another, and we also keep peace together. Thus, in fact, the difference in observing the fast establishes the harmony of our common faith.

Fighting the Good Fight of the Faithful
Anugrah Kumar of The
Christian Post reports,
“The Obama administration on Friday filed a brief, urging the Supreme Court to
strike down Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act, which keeps the federal
government from recognizing same-sex couples legally married in states, and
calling the law unconstitutional.”
Let us therefore fight this further attack on normative
values with the mightiest weapons we have!
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the
weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling
down of strong holds” (2 Cor. 10:3—4). All of the Right’s lobbying and protest
is impotent, without recognizing and fighting the spiritual darkness back of
the personalities and powers. So, let us,
“in one accord,” pray for courts of justice in our land.
ALMIGHTY God, who sittest in the throne judging right; We humbly beseech thee to bless the courts of justice and magistrates in all this land; and give unto them a spirit of wisdom and understanding, that they may discern the truth, and impartially administer the law in the fear of thee alone; through him who shall come to be our Judge, they Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen! (BCP, 1928, pp. 35—36).
How
Long, until we will hear the voice of Wisdom, who beckons us, saying, “Whoso
is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding,
she saith to him, come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I
have mingled. Forsake the foolish, and
live; and go in the way of understanding” (Prov. 9:4—6)?
